ASUS C300MA-EDU Chromebook Review:
Overall, this Asus Chromebook is fairly powerful and one of the best out there. First, the only difference between the C300-DB01 and C300-EDU Asus models are the increase in RAM (2GB vs. 4GB RAM ) and a larger standard SSD drive (16GB vs. 32GB SSD). Some comparable Chromebooks available in late 2014 would be the Samsung Chromebook 2, Acer C720, and the ASUS C300.
The laptop performs well but, most importantly light with very good aesthetics. An impressively compact case at just 0.8 inch thin makes ASUS Chromebook supremely portable. The battery performs well and charging usually takes under 2 hours.Even though the screen is the typical 1366 x 768 resolution you will find in pretty much every other Chromebook, the screen is adequate even though the resolution is lower than comparable Chromebooks.
The keyboard is quite and the touchpad is fairly large as they normally are in Asus notebooks. The chassis feels solid with very little flex, but make no mistake it still feels like a $300 laptop. Additionally, the full sized SD card slot it makes it really nice to have a more permanent storage solution or install Linux on it. Most importantly, the added RAM compared to other Chromebook models really makes this one a winner and better than many other Chromebooks that are on the market as this review indicates.
