ASUS C300MA-BBCLN12 Review

This is a great update to a credit line of ASUS Chromebooks that have been being produced for a few years now. Enjoy rich, realistic images on this Asus C300MA-BBCLN12 Chromebook’s 13.3″ high-definition display. This screen is nice because features IPS technology for clear viewing.

As is expected with each ChromeBook model update, the processor is updated and this ASUS C300MA is faster than its predecessor. The Asus Chromebook C300 is the best Chromebook on the market. It may not be as fast as the Acer C720 on paper, but it can handle 12 tabs and 3 720p YouTube videos (maybe not 1080p, but the screen can’t support that anyway) all at the same time without little slow-down (assuming you have an internet connection that is fast enough to load all of that).

Unfortunately the options on 13″ chromebooks are very limited – Toshiba is too heavy, while Samsung Chromebook 2 is too bad. Thus C300 is currently my only option, as I need to find a compromise between mobility and screen size.
For those who are interested in 11″ Chromebooks, I recommend HP or Acer. For those who doesn’t care about mobility, I highly recommend HP Chromebook 14. Since Asus C300 is launched after the last major Chrome OS update (v35), maybe the lags are due to this machine has not received software optimization from Google.

Overall, the ASUS C300MA-BBCLN12 is a great product arriving just in time for the 2014 Holiday Shopping Season.

  1. I installed it on a CR-48 and did NOT have to do the iainitl setup, the user accounts were retained. The only issue I’ve got is that the buttons for my X-Notifier, Adblock, and Google Voice always appear as if they are depressed. It’s kind of annoying but so far stability is excellent and everything is 100% functional.
